valentino pre-fall 2012.
ahh. so lovely. minimalist, but still pretty and feminine. i really like how well tailored and clean this collection is. short hemlines never hurt anyone either.

i’ve been living in my cognac chelsea boots since i got them from topshop and am now on the hunt for a black pair. these are PERFECT. now if only i could justify buying them…

it’s no secret that i am a tv and food junkie. my friends have all heard me talk about my top chef marathons. now that im a few seasons in, i can’t help but admire gail simmons. maybe it’s the toronto thing that has created my soft spot for her, but i find her to be a great judge and personality on the show. this article i recently read has me liking her even more—a pro-active person who knows what she is passionate about and isn’t afraid to try new things. i will definitely have to check out her new book when it comes out.
mind blown. it’s like lost all over again. HOOKED.
how did i just discover this? we all love LC’s hair and makeup, and because of this site, there are now tutorials that you can follow. i could probably live without the makeup ones but im a fan of the hair tutorials. check it ouuut.
golden globes fashion this year gets a big BOOOOOO from me. it was mostly boring and bad (with a lot of black). there were a few bright spots—emma stone in lanvin (i actually dig the eagle belt), charlize theron in dior, and viola davis in pucci. i think emma wins it for me.
and then there’s the worst. lea michele in weird, shiny cutout marchesa, jessica biel in a tumorous-looking zombie bride elie saab, and zooey deschanel in some baaaad “retro” prada. of all the choices in the world, WHY.
burberry prorsum pre-fall 2012.
ohhh what i would give for a burberry coat. no one does it better. such great tailoring. those gowns aren’t half bad either. i could do without the weird menswear and sullen model though.
3.1 phillip lim pre-fall 2012.
not my favourite collection from him, but compared to some other pre-fall collections, it’s a winner. and i still stand by my opinion that he’s the king of separates. my favourites from him are simple, well-cut, functional, but interesting pieces. (i have chosen to ignore the pieces that were inspired by superheros…ick.)
HA.
